The laser welding system, designed by Lu Na, is a high precision welding system that offers a range of unique features and benefits. Inspired by the efficiency and automation potential of laser welding, this system is specifically designed for welding independent lithium batteries into power battery packs. With the use of laser beams and a manipulator, this system ensures high-quality welds, improved consistency, reliability, and productivity.

Laser welding is a precise and efficient welding method that utilizes a high-energy density laser beam as a heat source. By controlling various parameters such as laser pulse width, energy, peak power, and repetition frequency, the system melts the workpiece, forming strong solder joints and welds. This technology minimizes thermal influence and ensures the cost, quality, safety, and consistency of the battery.

The laser welding system's unique properties lie in its ability to provide high precision and excellent directivity. The focused laser beam, combined with the manipulator, creates a highly concentrated heat source area, rapidly melting the welded object and forming firm solder joints and weld seams. This design choice improves the overall consistency, reliability, and productivity of the welding process.

With dimensions of 8075 mm x 1920 mm x 2110 mm, this laser welding system is compact and efficient. It is designed to meet the specific requirements of automated power battery module production lines, ensuring the high degree of consistency required for welding automobile power batteries.

The laser welding system was developed in Guangzhou, China, in March 2019. It addresses the challenges associated with large-scale equipment design and the interaction between humans and machines. By automating the welding process, this system improves efficiency, saves manpower and material resources, and ensures the quality of lithium battery welding.

The exceptional design of the laser welding system has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Manufacturing and Processing Machinery Design category in 2021.
